Meaningless for the Brewers. At least the first game is meaningful for the Dodgers.

Even though the Giants have a 91% chance of winning their division (allegedly), I still think this series means something to the Brewers. You want to get the Dodgers out of the picture, and making sure they're a wild card is the likeliest scenario.
Especially the way Scherzer looked in his last start. Of course you throw him in a one-game series, but if he's off their season might be over.
All that is secondary to setting up your own rotation and resting any position players who need it, of course.

Lauer probably won't go more than 5, maybe 6. Our bullpen sucks right now.

Have only been scoreboard watching, but it's nice to hang a bit of number on Kershaw.

Gustave lol. Giants will have to win one more, which I'm sure they'll do. We have our top 2 pitchers going this weekend but they won't pitch long.

while some stats might suggest that ending a season badly doesn't mean it will continue in the playoffs, they're losing in bad ways. And their bullpen outside of Hader is sketchy and they're losing after having early leads. And the only hitter that's been hot has been Cain, and he's not capable of leading an offense (though why hasn't he moved higher in the order?).

there is zero need to set up the rotation. The brewers' first playoff game is next Friday.

The team is not inspiring much confidence limping into the playoffs. Every NL playoff team is going in hot.

It is a nice comfort that the Brewers have been able to **** around for about a month and know that they're going to play the Braves in the NLDS, while Cards, Dodgers, and Giants are gonna be in a war for the NLCS.
