Pretty sure this is payback for the Angels doing it to us last year. I remember a stink being made about it and I don't think it's an accident we haven't done this all year until it's against the Angels

LA teams are important to us this week. Need the Dodgers to step up against the Phillies and the Angels to roll over.
Which reminds me of a joke Bob Hope told on his TV show that for some reason has stuck with me since the early 1960s.When the expansion Angels came into being in 1961, Hope quipped about LA now having two teams, the Dodgers and the Angels: "with the traffic out here, if you aren't one you're going to be the other."
OK, he told it better.

We'll see how badly the Phillies want #1 when we see if they sit guys tonight after winning the division

Ortiz is beyond useless at the plate. 2nd and 3rd, no outs, and you strike out? Start Mona over him. I don't care anymore. Yeah, you'll lose some defense. But my lord.

Solid win for the Crew. Hopefully can keep it rolling tonight to put themselves in a position to sweep tomorrow.
Magic # for 2 seed = 7
Magic # for 1 seed = 10

Get bent, Dodgers.

With the way the Dodgers bullpen looks and the likely seedings, #2 isn't looking too bad.

Vaughn got his first start in a while last night, collected 2 hits vs righties, gets benched right again tonight. Glad to see Ortiz finally sit.

Does Uribe really need the work this badly that we have to throw him today up 7 runs?

Nolan Ryan got his 300th win in Milwaukee. Ricky Henderson broke the single season stolen base record in Milwaukee. It would be cool if Trout hit home run number 400 tomorrow.

Magic # for Division and at least a 2 seed is down to 6. If we win the division there is pretty much no chance LA or SD will pass us at this point. We’d have to pretty much lose out and 1 of them win out.
Magic # for home field is currently 9 with a chance to be 8 if the Dodgers beat the Phillies tonight.
MLB does not re-seed after the WC round so if we get 1 we’re looking Cubs/Padres in NLDS. If get 2, it will be LA or NYM (if Mets hang on to 6 seed).

However it shakes out it's a tough road to the WS.

Home field throughout is at 7, Phillies can only get to 100 wins, Brewers at 93.

We’d have to go pretty ice cold to not get the one at this point. 3-7 finish would still also require the Phillies to go 6-3 to finish. Phillies are at Arizona this weekend who are quietly within 1.5 of the last wild card spot.
