Starting Pitching

Post#1 » by Ayt » Wed May 9, 2007 4:31 pm

A lot of people thought the Brewers starters were some of the best in the league coming into the season. As a team overall, we have the 3rd best ERA in the NL. Here is where our starters rank in the NL:

1st in wins (18 )
1st in fewest losses (7)
1st in winning% (72%)
3rd in ERA
1st fewest walks
3rd WHIP
2nd K/BB

I hope our starting pitching stays this good because I have a feeling that Coco is going to get a tired arm after all this pitching he is doing so far.

And thats with Sheets not playing up to his level yet
And with Bush being unlucky due to having a manager with a brain the size of a mosquito.

I think the Bullpen not blowing leads plays a huge factor into the starters' # of wins.

Are pitching has been sick this year, but isn't this what everyone expected.

Yep, and they are backing up the expectations. Now we just need to shore up middle relief and keep Turndero rolling. Hopefully Latin Cappy can redeem himself and get back on the big club as he would be a big help in the 6th-7th.

The other nice thing is, if a starter goes down, we can always plug in CV or Gallardo. Zach Jack is also there if needed.

oh i think CV is first in line for that starting job if someone goes down. He sure has earned it.

Yeah but hopefully Latin Cappy does get his situation with the brewers sorted out. If the brewers wanted to get rid of him they would have done it already.

Our starting pitching ERA is 3.42. That is insane. Granted we haven't played many great offensive teams yet, but that is getting the job done.

I can't take any credit for these. I laughed my ass off when I found them on brewerfan so I figured they should be here as well.

Counselino almost looks more normal than Counsel and Graffanino currently

Yeah together they actually look like a normal person.

Somebody put up the one of all 5 starting pitchers. It looks like Chad Moeller.
