Is there anything that this team needs to do as far as making a trade before the deadline to be a championship team.
Right now I see the Crew as a good playoff team but really don't see them able to be a champion. just wondering anyones thoughts on what they should or could do to make a differnce changing move.

They need another lefty in the bullpen. More offense out of third base. Braun is the obvious answer for 3B, I think we will see a trade for a lefty. Maybe Nix will show something in the minors and draw a little attention.

A trade for a big time RF would be cool. Add Braun at 3B and our offense would be one of the best in baseball.
We also need a lefty, as MD pointed out.

Thats funny that you said more cowbell. I was watching that clip a few days ago and thinking of adding it as my Avatar. But I have NO IDEA how to do that.

The left arm out of the pen and Ryan Braun would do it.

They need a third baseman that can hit more than his weight.
On this west coast trip, Melvin needs to hire someone tie up Graffy, blindfold him, drive him out into the desert and leave him.
Or they could put him in a large, wet paper bag. Lord knows he wouldn't be able to hit his way out of it.
He has got to go.

even if he evens out, how long are we going to let games go with a lack of offensive production. his double play he hit into in the 7th was more important in losing the game than anything else, imo

They are the best team in a weak division, and therefore a playoff team. That's about it.
To get better start Gwynn in right, bring up Braun and start him at 3rd, and trade the best of the rest for bullpen help.

As an everyday player he does.
Even after last night he's not hitting as well as he did at the beginning of the year. In his last 6 games, he's hit .261 with a .261 OBP and a .304 SLG. I don't care what his overall numbers on the season look like. He's starting to come back down to earth and Gross and Hart are the much better options.
Gross especially needs to play more. Its ridiculous to keep a guy who hits righties that well tied to the bench.

pitching, pitching, pitching, pitching, and pitching.
We seem to be unbalanced with 6 outfielders and 5 infielders. We must trade Gross or Mench or Hart (god forbid as I like him and think his power/speed combination is valuable, but also the most valuable as trade bait).
Package one of these outfielders and prospects for either a reliable starter and push Bush or Vargas to the pen or a reliever.
Bring up Braun to give you your 3B (with Council and Graffy becoming bench Players. Still have same # of bats off the bench)
Bring up Yovani as the 5th starter and move Bush or Vargas to the pen (see above.)
Recap:
Trade Mench or Gross or Hart for another arm
Bring up Braun and allow Graffy and Council to serve the roles they should
Bring up Yovani and kick Elmer to the curb (Bush or Vargas get his role)
