My 1st game thread.....

Carlos Zambrano (5-5, 5.62 ERA, 51 K's, 73.2 IP)
Image

vs.

Jeff Suppan (7-5, 3.71 ERA, 39 K's, 80 IP)
Image

Series Tied 1-1

It will be interesting to see if Zambrano's pitching will be affected by Barrett, if he catches.

Scouting Report:

Cubs: Zambrano is coming off an interesting game. The right-hander took the loss in an 8-5 decision to the Braves. He gave up seven runs, six earned, on 13 hits over five innings and also got into a skirmish in the dugout with catcher Michael Barrett. Big Z beat the Brewers on April 7, giving up three runs over seven innings. He did not get a decision in an extra-inning game April 23, lasting 5 1/3 innings in that contest.

Brewers: Suppan has pitched at least six innings and surrendered at least three runs in each of his last five starts while consistently keeping the Brewers in games. In his most recent outing against the Marlins on Friday he surrendered four earned runs in seven innings, good enough to improve to 9-1 lifetime at Miller Park with the win. He beat the Cubs at Wrigley Field on April 24, scattering eight hits in eight shutout innings.

i dont think that mench or graffanino will get the start since zambrano's a righty so it'll prolly be council and either jenkins or gwynn depending on how jenks ankle is doing. i think they said at the end of the game tonight that barrett wont be catching zambrano tomorrow although it would have been quite interesting to see them both play following the fight.

wasnt this suppose to be goirish's game thread by the way

I just did my thread and didn't notice yours till i finished. Yeah, i'm going to the game but i had time to throw mine up as well. i guess we'll let MD decide what to do about keeping one up. I think we need to figure something out about threads again, because it seems a few more people might be interested

Barrett is not catching today. Too bad it could have been interesting.

Man I wish he would've been. I want Zambrano to bitch slap him and then Barret retaliates with a pimp slap.

Shut up ****. You're nuts if you think that Pie is better than Santana after 100 some AB's especially after Santana was coming off a good year last year.

Teams are just going to have to stop pitching to Fielder now.

Hey Ned stop being a douche and get Estrada out of the 5 hole. He's the worst 5 hitter in the league.

cubs fans at the game today were out in force...i was sitting at the railing where the have the handicapped seats behind home plate (sec 422). great view of the game, middle of the stadium, however all i saw and heard were the cub fans. of course coulda been different if the crew did well. ps...i'm gonna take the next game thread if weffpim is alright with it, since the other one i made got locked today
