Here's the link to an article on ESPN.com where Cecil talks about his broken relationship with Prince:
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2913723
An interesting quote from Cecil:
"He's going to talk to me like he's my son, not like I'm a man out on the street. I let him know, at the end of the day, if you ever talk to me like that again, you're going to see me in front of 40,000 people trying to get after you. That's just not how it's going to go down," he said.
Sounds like someone trying to jump onto Prince's publicity bandwagon. I think he's full of it, personally.

Just a broken relationship that will probably never be fixed.

Prince doesn't want to talk about his dad, he just wants to play ball. I don't trust Cecil at all. If given a chance he'll try to milk Prince's success for his own cash benefit.

The story about Prince and Cecil is just sad.

here is prince, the son, who's pretty much kept quiet unless asked directly, and then states his opinion matter-of-factly----then here's cecil, the father, who has to get all puffy-chested and throw down some imaginary gauntlet in front of an espn beat reporter. it's like the scrub in the lunchroom who tells everybody he can kick the captain of the football team's ass. thank goodness this was a blurb and not a feature.
on a different note, is anybody noticing the quick and unceremonious segue from relationship to steroids? is there a not-so-subtle backhanded implication there about prince? or is it just me?

For a guy who squandered 47 million dollars on gambling and bad business investments, hes got a lot of balls to say Prince isn't a man.

Also from the article...
Cecil Fielder wrote:You gonna finish eating that? Mind if I have it? Thanks. Say, my car ran out of gas just down the block. Can I borrow $5?

Then he should have acted like a father, then and now. Now he's acting like someone who wants aboard the gravy train.

Just because he's legally his dad doesn't make him his father.
You have to earn that. Sounds like Cecil hasn't earned that honor.
I don't know the whole story on this situation but I believe it had to do with Prince's signing bonus $$ and that is indeed shady.
I would love to hear the full story on there relationship.. We only know so little.
