Milwaukee Brewers

47-34 . 1st in the NL central

Pittsburgh Pirates

35-46

Jeff Suppan
Image
Suppan recorded his first "quality start" since May 27 in his last outing, but he took a no-decision after surrendering a game-tying solo homer in the sixth inning, just after the Brewers had rallied for a 3-2 lead against the Astros. Suppan has surrendered at least six hits in all 17 of his starts this season, and at least seven hits in five straight starts. He's 9-3 with a 3.92 ERA in 16 career starts against the Pirates, one of his former teams, but 3-5 with a 5.43 ERA this season on the road.

Vs

John Van Benschoten
Image

Making his third start of the season, Van Benschoten struggled with his command against the Marlins. He lasted only four innings, allowing three hits, five walks and two runs, and in 81 pitches, he threw more balls than strikes. Even more confusing was that Van Benschoten got ahead of many hitters, but then lost them later in the count. Still, Van Benschoten has shown flashes of success since rejoining the Pirates' rotation, and catcher Ryan Doumit said after the game that "stuff-wise, he was there."

Probable Line Ups

Milwaukee Brewers

Corey Hart
JJ hardy
Ryan Braun
Prince Fielder
Billy Hall
Johhny Estarda
Geoff Jenkins
Rickie Weeks
Jeff Suppan

Pittsburgh Pirates

R Davis
F Sanchez
X Nady
J Bay
A LaRoche
J Castillo
R Paulino
J Wilson
John Van Benschoten

Milwaukee Brewers have been hitting great as of late but always seem to have troubles @ PNC Park. Lets hope that changes this year with this new great team. Jeff Suppan finally pitched a good game his last start out lets hope he pitches like his contract dictates

Congrats to Prince, JJ, Coco, and Sheets for making the all star team woot woot

Go Brewers ! !!!!!

Would I be considered immature if I giggled everytime I see the letters "PNC"?

Another one of Suppan's former teams, so he should pitch well. It's also pretty sad that I've come to the point where I only know a couple players in the Pirates lineup.

Come on Suppan get that ERA below 5 at least. 2-1 Pirates.

Looks as if Cubs are gonna destroy the crappy Nationals and get the win.

Miller Time. Now don't screw this up Suppan. Should be 3-1 though, the first run was Jenks fault.
