Notes:

-Jeff Suppan has sucked badly. I'm starting to put "Hammonds" in between the his name.

-Please give Weeks the day off tomorrow. He's brutal to watch

-The Brewers should designate one game a year as "Major League Day" where Bob Uecker can act like he's in Major League again and get away with saying whatever he wants.

Don't suck tomorrow!

My aunt is coming in from California and we are going out to eat and exactly 1:00. Wonderful. Hopefully we aren't there to long.

my gosh. does it not seem like every at-bat, he either watches or fouls off strike one, falls behind, then either watches or misses strike three? it's like he's defending the plate when the count is 0-0, 1-1, then waiting for a ball on 2 strikes.

So I was just looking at the Brewers stats and I came to these conclusions.

Braun is a stud
Fielder is a stud
Sheets is awesome
Suppan sucks
Jenkins has been in a free fall
Hardy has cooled down a lot
Tony Gwynn is the devil his .666 OPS will doom the Brewers

Sorry it was set up so perfectly for me I just had to post it. :D

I was just about to say the same thing. I acctually came in here to comment on it and then saw somebody already did. You happened to say exactly what I was going to say. He either isn't going to swing or he is. It's amazing how little the pitch acctually has to do with his decision.

Suppan has got to give us a quality start. CV and yogo prolly won't be available. Get it done you over-payed slacker.

this comes from ned in last nights game, in response to pinch hitting for weeks: "It's not something I enjoy doing because Rickie's a kid who gives you everything he has," Yost added. "But at this point in the season I have to put the team first. That's what I did."

hopefully this means no more stupid moves, or waiting too long. kind of like how he got cappy out of the game saturday sooner than he would have in the first half.

I think the best thing to do with weeks is put him on the dl for the season. Its obvious that his wrist is still hurting. Its a tough thing to do with such a prospect but you can't really do anything about it.

Ned was pretty strait forward and honest in that response. It's good (at times) to have confidence in your players and let them battle but he made the right decision last night even if it hurt Weeks to do it.

Maybe it's time to just put Graffanino in there for good and send Weeks down for a month. He is just completely lost at the plate. It's not just his swing, his whole approach is embarassing.

Today's Lineup:

CF Corey Hart
SS Craig Counsell
3B Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
C Damian Miller
LF Geoff Jenkins
RF Gabe Gross
2B Tony Graffanino
P Jeff Suppan

Not the greatest lineup I have ever seen. Suppan better be on his game.

I'm all for giving guys rest but that's a horrible lineup to use with a pitcher who's struggling big time. :nonono:

Seems like putting the team first is what Yost does sometimes but not others (rotation).

Yeah, we have 3 reliable hitters in the lineup today. Not exactly Murderers' Row.

Wow is that lineup horrible. Hopefully Miller still has a hot bat and can have another 7 rbi night or something. I swear anytime I see Gross, Graffy, and Counsell in the lineup, I expect to lose 9 times out of ten. At least the Cubs are getting one of Hustons better pitchers today. My guess is they still kill him anyway with how hot they have been.

I never thought I'd see this said about Wandy Rodriguez.

Anybody else really pissed off by this quote? You damn well better put the team first every game. Screw feelings and whether or not they like you.

I could very well be wrong, and to be perfectly honest, I'm not going to spend time trying to look this up, but it seems to me that Yost has been putting out some pretty questionable line-ups on Sundays lately. If he wants to give a guy a day off here and there, fine, whatever, we have another thread debating that. BUT, doesn't he realize the division lead is down to 3.5 games with his struggling team being chased down by a pretty hot Cubs team. Its almost like these games when he just empties the bench into the starting line-up are games he's just saying "oh well, if we win cool, but if not, whatever" and that's NOT a good idea right now. Sometimes it doesn't seem like logic is Ned's strong point.
