what can we give? gross they wouldn't want unless in a package with minor leaguers or villanueva/parra... jenkins/dunn straight-up? gwynn straight-up? please, why oh why do we need another power-hitting, low-avg-carrying outfielder?

that i could deal with--it opens the spot for parra/villanueva/balfour to get more time. don't trade jeffress, please, not yet.

But isn't Tony Gwynn in the lineup today? Wouldn't we pull him from the lineup if we are trading him?

i don't like it initially, but if he keeps hitting home runs... is he going to slide right into the five-spot? that's a great 3-4-5 in braun fielder dunn.

ken rosenthal, last month:

Dunn's contract stipulates that his $13 million club option for next season would be voided by a trade, making him a free agent at the end of the season. Thus, the sooner the Reds acted, the better the package they would receive.

Yeah, never mind. But Dun is like someone said gonna be a FA, that the Brewers can't keep. If Melvin is serious about making a World Series run then this'll go through.
