I realize this isn't much of a thread, but WTF? This is a link on the front page of ESPN.com.
What a slump. We had won four of our last five coming into today. If that is slumping, lets slump the rest of the year.

yeah i put this in the game thread. initially it said struggling, then switched to slumping. i don't know what brewers they're talking about. although maybe they expected us to play .700 ball all year.

They said slumping because coming in to today's game we were 29-31 after our 24-10 start.

Pretty odd timing considering how we've played recently.
"Slumping Brewers -- who own the best record in the NL -- try to break out of their slump, having won 4 of their last 5."

Yeah, I agree but I was just trying to put some reasoning behind why they said "slumping". 5-2 since the all-star break isn't slumping last time I looked...

Karl Ravech on Baseball Tonight said, "Fans in Milwaukee will need something to cheer about since the Brewers are fading fast." Dusty Baker quickly jumped in and said, "They won 10 to 1 tonight."
Ahh the good ol' Eastern Seaboard Propaganda Network (ESPN).

Is that seriously a real quote?

That's really laughable seeing as we are better than the Mets and Dodgers. Oh wait. We are better than the whole National League.
My god. Can you say World Series run if we get home field throughout the NLDS and NLCS? We are the best home team in all of baseball right now.

Yes it is. They were talking about Bonds coming to Milwaukee and potentially breaking the record. That's when he said the "the fans will need something to cheer about" quote. I emailed them saying Ravech should get his facts straight before going on tv.

I hate having the most wins in the NL. I really need something to cheer about.
I'm also pissed about only winning 5 of our last 6. ****.

Apparently we are struggling in the eyes of ESPN. The Padres, Dodgers, and Cubs remain ahead of us in the Power Rankings.
Last I looked but don't we have the best record AND biggest division lead in the National League? How are we not considered the best team in the NL? Cuz the Padres have 2 pitchers? Cuz the Dodgers have dominant pitching but horrible offense? Cuz the Cubs have beaten up on last place teams the last week?
Someone please explain it to me...
