Sorry guys. I'm bored as it's 2:25 in the morning and I'm all hopped up on prescriptions that it's impossible for me to sleep.

So, I figured I'd take a long look at our current minor league system to see where we stand. I honestly don't know much more than the stats will show about these guys so if I forget someone or overrate someone let me know.

Will Inman (RHP, 20 years old) - 5-7, 3.00 era, 111.0 IP, 135 so, 37 bb, .224 baa,

Lou Palmisano (C, 24 years old) - .286 avg, 9 hr, 55 rbi, 7 sb, .400 obp, .462 slg

Michael Brantley (OF, 20 years old) - .310 avg, 2 hr, 44 rbi, 31 sb, .402 obp, .402 slg

Nice work. I posted some analysis of a few of these guys a few days ago.

Never heard of Braddock, but he's tearing it up and was a 15th round pick. He's in low A ball, which is right where you want him as a 20 year old.

Brewer was a 2nd round pick in 2005 and is really struggling. He was a "tools" pick that could potentially be very good. He didn't do squat in rookie ball last year either though.

Gamel is considered a very solid 3B prospect and should move up in peoples eyes after a very good year this year. He is a little old at nearly 22 for high A ball. He's one to watch in AA next year.

Ford was considered a guy to watch in the Brewers system, and he's had a great year. His SB numbers are out of control. His main problem is that he's 21 (only a little old) and he started in low A and has struggled since moving up to high A (but he has still stolen 25 bags in 31 games in high A despite only having a .331 OBP). He's another one to watching in AA next year.

Brantley is intriguing because of his speed and his great eye. When your OBP is 100 points higher than your BA and you hardly ever strikeout (once per 9 ABs), you know what you are doing up there. That kind of discipline is very rare in very young hitters. His 31 SB are also huge since there is a lot of baseball left in AA. He's done that in 88 games. Gwynn minor league high was 34 in 138 games. He could end up being what a lot of people view Gwynn as now and what a lot of Gwynn doubters would accept in a leadoff type guy. This kid could really have a future because of his speed and his eye.

I'm also very interested in how the two catchers do when they move up. Palmisano will be in AAA and Salome in AA. Its always nice to develop a catcher.

im the only one, but i still have hope for rogers. hes been playing very poorly, but still, i think he could develop into a solid player. right now hes injured after having surgury on his sholder, but he is still only 21.

with parra, gallarrdo, and inman anyway it should be pretty tough for rogers to find room, but i still think he should be decent.

^Don't forget Villanueva, who is our second best SP prospect -- at least out of our advanced guys -- despite being a current stud in the pen.

You can never have too many pitching prospects. I'm really interested to see how Inman adapts as he moves up the chain.

I'd also comment on Thatcher, a guy some of you may have heard of. He's old at age 25, but he's a lefty reliever who could be a future situational guy out of the pen. He strikes out a ton of guys, rarely walks anyone, and hasn't given up a HR all year. He's currently in AAA.

He's been kind of a sleeper people have been keeping their eyes on. As a strict bullpen lefty, his ceiling isn't huge, but it is still nice to develop a lefty out of your system.

Right now, I'm going to focus on catchers. There's just not as many quuality catchers these days.

Boy, Lou Palmisano has really comeback and has had a good year.

But keep Angel Salome in mind too. He can really hit, and he's got a cannon arm from behind the plate. I see a Pudge Rodriguez in him.

I personally like the guy we got from the Tigers for Capellan. Cody looks pretty nice.
