That's kinda Rays fans viewpoint, too.
McClung has great stuff and a big upside. Trouble is, it's been this way for a long while. And he's made no progress.
His command is still diabolical, he's still fat and ginger, and he still hasn't what you might call "toughness" under pressure.
It's a nothing deal for both of us. You get a possible reclamation project. Just don't go expecting it to work out. And please, look beyond the AAA ERA.

I'm sure many will do that because Balfour had a great ERA in AAA this year too.

Well, McClung has the same sort of thing going on there. He doesn't have the injuries of Balfour, and he's younger. But he's also never, ever been good at the major league level, in quite a lot of trying.
The Rays kept passing him over for other good AAA performers like Corcoran, Orvella, Dohmann, Swizter etc, for a reason. McClung is really, really wild. At AAA, he can get away with it some, but if he came back to the big leagues he'd just be slapped about.
Not that it's a bad move for the Brewers. Not at all. Just be aware that he might never pitch for you.

Which is fine because Balfour was never going to pitch for us again anyway.
