Bonds did it. Screw him. Aaron was classy at least and gave him a video message.

Good. Now he can fade into oblivion until it's time for A-Rod to (legitimately) pass him.

Na na na na...na na na na...hey hey hey...good-bye!

Did you guys see all those fans fighting for that ball? That was hectic.

Hopefully my favorite player, A-Rod can break the record.

I'm glad I got to see the record broke on live TV though. Better than watching the Brewers getting massacred.

Selig couldn't make it cause he was meeting with Mitchell today. How cool would it be if Bonds was indicted tomorrow?

I do have to say, its kind of cool stuff to watch. Its like a sports soap opera with all the stories that are going on with it. I also wonder what the scrum for the ball was like. I think of a football pile for a loose ball. I can only imagine the kind of **** going on to get that ball and steal it away from other people. The police escorted that guy out so fast.

as if you needed any more proof that bonds is a total douche. bonds' son meets him home plate, arms extended, trying to hug his father, and bonds totally just ignores him.

He was thanking "God" . His son hugged him after Bonds tapped his finger. So he didn't ignore him.

Though the dude is a deusch.

i know he was praying/thanking God. i was referring to after the whole pointing/praying thing, where he turns away immediately to his teammates, instead of giving his kid a hug.

Yeah, tied with Ichiro. What's wrong with Alex Rodriguez being one of my favorite MLB players?

Yeah I noticed that too. The kid handled it well but by looking at how it played out, it really looked like Bonds just ignored his son at first. He went and hugged like two other teammates even before it looked like he realized "Oh **** I better show my kid some love so I don't look like a total ass."

Its funny how they are basically talking about Bonds stripping right now to save all the gear he is wearing and stuff. This stuff is pure drama. The kid who caught the ball went to the game on a whim on his way to Australia. Selig just called Bonds supposedly. I can only imagine that conversation. Whats the next big scoop they talk about I wonder?

I guess it isn't the most hallowed record in sports anymore. :nonono:

Congrats to Barry. I'm glad I got to see the all-time HR record broken. I'm really glad it's over though. I'm tired of Barry now.

What's that? The records tainted? Something is tainted in baseball???

Noooo!?![/end sarcasm]

Lock him up in prison??? You are nuts. What, should the government lock up every professional wrestler as well? So what if he took steroids, half the league from 1990-2003 did as well, and that does not exclude many of the pitchers in that era.

Think about it, it could be worse. Someone who isn't one of the 5 best players of all time (steroids or no steroids) could have broken the all-time MLB HR record. No matter what you think of the guy personally, you can't deny Bond belongs at or near the top of the list of all-time greats.

Please, it is and always will be. It's just that the interim record holder is kind of a jerk, and that will be true until someone else breaks it again. The same could be said of the guy who holds the all-time hits record, or the guy who held the single-season HR record until Bonds took it from him.

How is that reaching? What am I reaching at anyway? I only called it like I saw it man. He did tap his kids hand when he got to the plate sure but I always remember the joy McGuire showed and how he snatched his son up and looked to want to share in the joy with him. I guess that seemed more like the type of reaction I would expect for a father to have with his son after a moment like that. I don't mean to judge him but when I saw it play out in real time my first thought was why doesn't he hug his son. Thats what most fathers would do don't you think?
