Do you guys think Estrada should be taking some of the blame for the complete meltdown of all the pitchers?

It is just hard for me to realize that a career 2.80 hitting catcher keeps getting moved to different teams. It is hard to find good hitting catchers like that but he always seemd to get traded. So do you think Estrada could be some type of cancer to this team and all others that he has played for?

He did pretty good last year with webb who he caught.
Don't think its really estardas fault cappuano is leaving the ball right the middle of the plate.

I'm pretty sure you could grab a random person off the street and Webb would do well with that person as catcher.

when you look at a lot of the meltdowns, you see , for example, estrada setting up low and outside followed by a pitch right down the middle. its not pitch calls that are the problem, its the location/execution, up and down the lineup. i don't know about the times when cappy only pitches changeups though.

Exactly. Estrada may be calling for a pitch low and away and the brilliance of the Brewers pitchers leave it right down the middle. Catchers can be blamed, but I don't think this is a case where Estrada can be blamed.

Too many poor performances by different players at different junctures over the past few months. Cappy turning into Glendon Rusch (Circa when we cut him) wasn't good.

I'm going to take the high road and blame the debacle on something as illogical as Suppan's no trade clause. You'd have to be a crack head to A) sign Suppan to that rate B) give him a no trade clause in addition.

No, our pitchers are just not very good. They overachieved in the beginning of the season and now they are pitching to their ability.

Cappuano isn't pitching to his ability at all. He has never been a 5 ERA guy in the last two seasons. Suppan has never had a 5 ERA his last two seasons. Vargas has overachieved in the april and may. But to say the whole pitching staff is pitching to their ability right now isn't correct.
