This series will determine the season. Oh damn who am I kidding the wheels have already fell off....A guy can hope though right?....Right?....probally best I just hope for the worst.

It's simple. Win 2 of 3 or season is over. Even though the Scrubs have struggled they are playing better than we are. Sheets may pitch Thursday but he's been off over a month so I don't expect much his first time back.

I'm now resorting to begging.

Please...please, just get a win tomorrow night. That's all I want. Just a win. Please. I beg you.

Ya never know, their's still a lot of baseball left. The Cardinals are coming hard at both of us, both of us need to get hot soon or we might dig ourselves into a hole.

It cant get much worse then the pitching we have had in the second half of the season .

I am not sure loosing this series will mean the season is over. Yes it will mean we will under .500 and be 2.5 back. But there is still a month left. If some how this **** we call pitching comes together we can make a run and who knows what can happen.

I know we would still be in it, but I have no confidence that this team can comeback from more than a game or two down. We haven't played good ball since mid May.

All I ask of the Cubs is to make this a quick, painless death. Probably shouldn't be too hard with Suppan on the bump.

Agreed, just have them win the first two games then I can watch the Packer game Thursday night and not bother to flip over.

I hate to say this but I could never hate the Cubs. See when my dad was young he played with the likes of Harvey K. He was a highly recruited 1st basemen in the highest organized baseball in Milwaukee at the time. The Cubs offered him a pro contract, but he turned it down to be with my mother. So thats why I never really could hate the Cubs. But go Brewers.

Jeff has been are best pitcher since sheets left. Believe it or not.

July 14th. Suppan started the next day so after Sheets got hurt he's pitched 46.1 innings and given up 23 earned runs so multiply 23 by 9 for 207 and divide that by 46.33 and you get 4.46794733434 and I just round that to 4.47.

Night games at Wrigley just aren't the same. Campbell's chunky taking the mound, I don't expect him to go past 6, we'll have to see though.

I can't find a link to the article, but I read in the Wisconsin State Journal this morning that between Sheets, Suppan and Capuano, Sheets is the last one to win a game, and he hasn't pitched in 6 weeks. How pathetic is that?

Of course to me wins mean very little to pitchers as I see 3 games in Suppan's game log that could have been wins due to 1 or 2 more runs and 2 games in Capuano's game log.

We heard Melvin talk about Suppan's "big game experience" when he was signed. Well tonight is a "big game".
