Yost: "Ship is sinking, but we're pushing the water out

"As bad as things had gotten, we tried to stay steady in our approach and steady in our mental mindset," Yost said. "The ship feels like it's sinking, but our guys are in the boat, pushing the water out. We know we still have a lot [of games] left, and it's right there."
OK, now Ned has done some questionable things, and said some things that we would not like him to say, but I wonder how this went unnoticed by this board? Yes, he did admit the troubles the Brewers have had, but if there's a list of things managers NEVER say, it's that the club "feels like a sinking ship" and that "our guys are pushing the water out."
It may seem like I'm nit-picking (I'm not a Yost hater, persay, but I don't agree with some of the things he does), but this has got to be some sort of a red flag. It clearly did nothing for the team tonight, motivation wise.

you can look at it one of two ways. you did one of them, that its horrible and is never a mindset you want to hear your team in. or two, he's not the greatest with words and thats what came out. the way he acts sometimes it sure seems like he's content to go down with the shp

This just shows how stupid he is. You would think he plug the hole instead. But keep bailing.

Sorry for thinking that "the ship feels like it's sinking" is something I don't want to hear the manager of a professional team say.
How about something like "We have not playing well, it's not like it's a fact we've been ignoring. But it's not like we've stopped trying, we go out there every night and try to win."

Yeah Comcast Chiacgo was having a blast of what Yost said. One lady said it sure sounded like he has giving up on his team or something to the line of that.

its not like someone asked him if the team was like a sinking ship and he said yes, he came up with this analogy on his own. while pushing water off a sinking boat may be a good way to describe the way the guys are battling to save the season, a sinking ship isn't the first thing i want coming to my manager's mind when he thinks of his team.

I'd rather just have the cork used to plug the hole in the boat shoved into Yost's mouth.

Real post game show wouldn't stream for me tonight, would have loved to have heard Tim and Sparky's reactions.

That's because they had the Packers postgame show on WSSP as well as WTMJ.

It could and will be much worse.
Just wait until after some heated Bucks-Bulls game on a Friday night and we get no postgame show because the Admirals are now being broadcast on WSSP.

1. Don't diss the Admirals.
2. Admirals games start at 7 and aren't as long as basketball games so it will usually be okay.
