Scouting Report

Brewers: Blink and you might have missed Bush's last start. He pitched an inning-plus in the shortest outing of his career, and was tagged with eight earned runs on nine hits without walking a batter. Bush surrendered six runs while facing 10 batters in the first inning, then served up Ken Griffey's 30th home run of the season in the second, a two-run shot that knocked Bush out of the game. It was a rare poor outing for the right-hander, who was 8-3 with a 4.01 ERA over his previous 15 appearances, and had pitched into the fifth inning in all of his 26 starts this season. He beat the Pirates on Sept. 1 at Miller Park, allowing a run on four hits in six innings.

Pirates: Gorzelanny is one win away from becoming the first Pirates pitcher since 1999 to record 15 wins in a season. He picked up win No. 14 by allowing one run on six hits in seven innings of work against the Cubs. The win was refreshing for Gorzelanny, whose previous start lasted just four innings due to a very high pitch count early. That four-inning outing came against Milwaukee, against whom Gorzelanny has already faced three times this season.

this year dave bush has the best opp. baa agianist pit. which is .208

he has a 3.46 era.

Would be nice for Bush to respond with a nice bounce-back game.

bush is one guy in my opinion that tends to perform like he has historically, ie: he sucks in GAB. or last year when he would rock at home and blow on the road. i think he can bounce back and have a good game

i always figure that once you're absolutely sure something is going to happen, thats when it doesn't. so i like to believe that my team can do almost anything, which definitely includes believing they can win this division, but my beliefs are always tempered by that little bit of brewerfandom.

18 games left. Every game is critical. Win today and put pressure on the Scrubs tonight. I'd love to have a 2 game lead going home for the weekend.

That doesn't bode too well for the Brewers today.

Should have been. Walking two, hitting a batter, an infield single, and one run.

Bush sucks, but our defense behind him this start and last has been very questionable.

Hardy I guess is still average at fielding (he ranks in the middle of NL shorts in fielding percentage), but he never seems to make the slightly hard to very difficult plays anymore.

Offseason we gotta really tighten up the fielding...27th in the league I think right now.
