It sucks that we had to give up Morlan, there was just no reason for us to change from Rincon to a top relief prospect so quickly.

What do you know about Morlan? I'm in the dark on him.

Barty has a decent bat but he is just not an MLB short. I'm excited about the deal. Young is a legit five tool talent - those are rare even in an age of hype. Mauer-Young-Morneau should become a powerful 3-4-5, L-R-L combo.

Morlan was a top relief prospect in the game. There's no guarantees, but he could have been pretty good for us. Getting rid of Rincon's salary alone would have made me happy.

Bartlett is indeed a MLB short. He's a league average hitter (which has value in itself), but he's rated top 5 defensively by pretty much all defensive ratings (which aren't perfect, but are still better than just looking at how many errors a guy makes).

but the turf makes all of our infielders look pretty good, whats Bartlett's errors at home vs errors on the road, thats the key. Its the key. The key to unlock the mystery of Bartlett's true defensive prowess.

No, the errors are not the key. Whats the difference between Bartlett making 20+ errors and Juan Castro letting 20+ balls roll into the outfield? The difference is that Bartlett gets to more than 20 more balls than a Juan Castro, he has excellent range.
