Wow, Perkins before Garza?

Well, the deal is they want bullpen help. So in that case I'm happy its Perkins before Garza. Really though, I want both to be starting so I'm not too happy about this decision. I think it would have been worth it to give Venafro a shot, even though he got rocked in his first Triple A outing.

I think it is more because Rincon is gone and Crain pulled something.

Good call, rev. Rincon obviously came back last night- too early. Crain should be fine in a few days. Maybe, just maybe, they'll give Perkins a start in place of Ponson.

I think it has at least a little to do with Reyes struggling. Teams like to have a lefty they can count on in the bullpen, and the injuries made Perkins's versatility more appealing than giving a guy like Venafro a shot.
