I'll make the threads nicer when we actually get more than 2 pages for a series.

Discuss.

They were over 2 for the Yankees and Orioles series'. Go Twins. Ortiz is on the rubber.

I think we'll take 2 of 3, with the loss obviously coming tomorrow when we face King Felix.

Twins win!

Felix is going to dominate us tomorrow. [pipedream]We need Silva to go 8 scoreless innings so we can get to the Mariners bullpen.[/pipedream]

I like that Tyner's all of the sudden become a surprising source of almost-power. He's been about 10 feet combined from a pair of homers the last few games. Ortiz has been a very pleasant surprise this year as well. The only guys that have had trouble on the mound have been Ponson and Boof.

I don' t know if I like it. He's pretty much terrible at hitting, but him being hot early means that Gardy will think that he's good all year long. That's a bad thing.

Good start against Felix. Bases loaded no outs 1st inning Cuddyer up.

Felix out with injury after 1/3 inning

So King Felix pulled himself out of the game before we could pound him for more runs.

kg2005 I don't know why you hate Tyner so much. He's a good backup player and fills in nicely when an OF is hurt. Sure he doesn't hit for power but he can hit for average.

Average doesn't mean anything when its empty.

With that logic, Castillo, Bartlett, and Punto are worthless as well.

Career
Tyner .274/.310/.319/.629, EQA .227 (!!!!)
Castillo .293/.368/.357/.725 EQA .265
Bartlett .274/.339/.356/.695 EQA .246 (.259 last year)
Punto .256/.321/.339/.660 EQA .233 (.253 last year)

A few things.
1. .260 EQA is average. There's a lot of value in being an average hitter, especially with a good glove.
2. Castillo/Bartlett play more valuable positions than Tyner, making their offense worth more.
3. Punto sucks at hitting, no question about that. Last year he had a good stretch where he was hitting well, but he reverted back to himself towards the end of the year. He's got a great glove though and he saves us some runs there. He's basically replacement level, but even the Yankees have Doug Mientkiewicz.
4. Tyner is a terrible hitter. If you hit .300 but don't take any walks, you're making outs 70% of the time. I'm fine with him being a fourth outfielder and playing when theres an injury. But for goodness sake, don't bat him second and don't put him in against left handers.

Are you just trying to get this into the 2+ page realm so kg2005 will have to do more work?
