Who would be our temporary closer?

Rincon?
Crain?
Neshek?

Liriano, MUAH!

Prolly Rincon or Neshek.

I'm guessing it would be Rincon. He's been around the longest.

Neshek bar non, I would be willing to bet that Nathan may not get an extension because we do have people lined up to take over for him and with our budget and TheFranchise 21 makes a interesting point if Liriano is going to have continued arm troubles, we could bring him in for 6 out saves, or make him the GD closer alla Papelbon.,...gp franchise, If Lariano comes back and tries to be a Starter I think he would make a lights out closer and hey you never know he could pull off a John Smoltz start, close and then start again. I like the idea and plus he'd probably come on the cheap compared to what Nathanm smuttering lips is looking for.

Is Joey really worth 10+ mil per, when we have a list of candidates to take his place? Also is Torri worth 4-50mil? That puts him near 36 making 12.5 mil per, plus we are going to have to pay Cuddy, Morny, and add a few pieces along the way...what about Johan getting paid..
Will see how Terry Ryan earns his check in the up coming future.

tough loss today fellas hopefully we can get Cleveland Mon!

Yeah, I don't see how we can pay Nathan 10 mil a year when we have other options that are much cheaper. Torii isn't worth that kind of money either, no way we'll be able to sign him.

Torii's the trickier situation than Nathan, we don't have a decent replacement CF in the pipeline right now that's close to ready, but we have a lot of arms.

It's a tricky situation, but I think there's only one real answer to it. There's no way we can keep the guy at market value.

Rivera is getting old, Nathan may be an option for the Bronx in a couple years? I like Joe a lot, but if he's got the team at heart he needs to understand to keep the nucleus together that some financail sacrifices need to be made by everybody...

This could all be a non-issue if once we get into the new ball park and unlce Carl says we can raise the payroll by 20 mil???

It won't be a non-issue. The new park should raise our revenue, but not like everyone thinks. Our payroll will get higher, but probably only on the level that every other team does.

Ya the financial situation we're going to be in real soon sucks. I say put neshek at closer and let joe walk. How many of santana, morneau, and hunter do you think we can afford to keep?

My vote goes to Neshek. I'm sure Rincon would feel slighted but Neshek is more dominant.

Neshek is on the shelf the rest of the season & Rincon was released. It'd either be Guerrier or Crain, most likely Crain

I'm guessing he knows that, but the quoted post was made almost a year ago.
