Yes, like I said above, this would never happen. Beltran would not move over to RF and Hunter would never agree to play RF for us. But since hes a FA, I'm going to throw my hat in the ring and make a pitch.
Offensively, hes young, and provides a 300 avg with good power. He could definitely pick up the slack that Delgado didn't last year, and provide another legit 300avg to protect Wright/Beltran in the middle of the lineup for 100+ games.
Defensively... we know his story. We could shade to the left so that Alou can cover less ground because of the great range between Beltran and Hunter.
Think about it guys... If we take him on, it makes Milledge, Fmart and Gomez dispensable for a starting pitcher, we just need to keep the one which we think can play in 2009 for us.
If I was Omar, I'd call up Torii and ask him how much it would take and give him the check. It just makes too much sense, as long as hes willing to play RF
