Freddy Garcia?

Post#1 » by Luv those Knicks » Sun Nov 25, 2007 6:46 am

obviously he was pretty bad last year, but he might bounce back. He's had a couple good years before then.

Do you want this guy?
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.

Double standard?

No thanks, dont even waste time.

1year / incentive based contract is the max I would go but dont even look at him for an important option.

up until he got hurt last year he'd pitched 200 innings for like 5 or 6 straight seasons...but i don't even remember what the injury was...who's to say that it won't come back? like jose7 said, 1 year with an incentive based contract is all that i'd bother with.

That sounds great, but the problem is that he probably would get a better deal with another team.

I agree that overpaying is stupid, but at the same time, not having a decent 5th starter isn't very good either. So it's a tough call - when to overpay for that guy you might need. Starting pitchers are at a premium right now.

Gah, more smoke and mirrors from Omar... we need a true pitching upgrade, somehow, someway...

I'll take a pass, but I will keep in touch with him. I would much rather have him than someone like silva or livan. Give him a 1 year 6.5 million with some incentives for up to 8mil or something if we cant get Haren/Santana/Blanton.

But I'm just so sick right now. CAN WE PLEASE get a pitcher? Everyone is trying to fleece us probably because we know how bad we need a starting pitcher in all of our trade scenarios.

Just give Billy Beane his propects for Haren and move on. I dont want Santana, hes a rent-a-player. He can come to us during FA for 6 years whatever million it will take.
