Its not money, the dumb ass Mets are trying to only give him a 5 year deal with options for more years instead of just going 6 or 7 years guaranteed. Why trade for him if we are going to be stubborn about guaranteeing 6 or 7 years. We can give old players 4 year deals, but we can't give a 29 year old ACE 6 or 7.

wiretap says mets ready to give him 6 year deal

another wiretap says we're hung on the 5 year deal

Yeah it's so many different stories out there. Yesterday I read the Mets were close to signing him and then I read that the Mets were at 7/140 and he want 7/160...I don't think anybody but the Mets, Santana and his agents know what the hold up is. I just want to see something saying Mets and Santana agree on long-term deal, so I can spend the rest of the day happy.

0% chance we dont sign him.. all these reports are bs just like the nando for santana reports, etcetc they are all bs for publicity.. the mets are not (Please Use More Appropriate Word) whether its 5 6 or even 7 years santana wants he WILL be a met.. quit worrying

Sure hope the mets sent the paperwork in by now otherwise you mets fans will be pissed.... specially since there hasnt been any announcement yet
