Three S's Most Overlooked on Mets -- article inside

Now, although the season is early, and the Mets are in an unfortunate familiar second place, the media and fans already know whom to thank for their spot in the top two: David Wright, Jose Reyes, Johan Santana and Billy Wagner. All four definitely deserve accolades, as they will most likely represent us in the Bronx in July. But there are still some players who have gone unnoticed: Brian Schneider, Jorge Sosa, and Scott Schoeneweis.

Agreed on most points.

I supported the Milledge trade early on because I thought that Gomez and Fmart would become larger pieces in the future than Milledge would have. I don't trust his defense (other than his arm) and I had concerns if it would take him 5 years to be a great hitter.

Regarding Sosa, I think he is a very important piece in our pen. He is designated as the 6/7th inning + long relief guy and he is not a bad pitcher. Besides the Grand slam he gave up and the run last night, he has been vital in quite a few wins for us already.

Shoeneweis when used in stints is probably the best. Just use him for lefties and nothing else. I am very indifferent when it comes to Scott, he is a good guy to have who can get out lefties, and that is about it.

I think Church is a better than average outfielder. Very good D and 43 doubles last year and a good swing, so he had the chance to improve on his hitting last year.

but I agree with you on Schneider, and I'm glad that Show is looking like a helpful bullpen guy again.

Sosa looks done. I wouldn't object if Figgy took his spot as a long relief guy when Pedro returns.
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.

Double standard?
