Mets refuse to go over there draft slot again

the system where big market teams draft the best avaialble player later in rounds because smaller market teams dont have the money to sign em and has revitalized the yankees red sox and angels farm system the mets still refuse to do

Why have high picks if we're afraid to go over slot money for better talent. I will never understand why we act like a small market team doing the draft.

They do go over the slot some, but I'm tired of them passing on good talent because of the slot. I get that we usually make up for it in IFA, but why not do both?
