Mets could have had V-Mart

Post#1 » by TMU » Sat Aug 1, 2009 9:38 pm

SNY.tv - The Mets reportedly had a chance of acquiring Victor Martinez.

The cost reportedly was one of two Double-A pitchers Brad Holt or Jenrry Mejia plus Jon Niese.

Boston acquired Martinez ahead of Friday's deadline.

Boston got lucky because we would have given Cleveland a much better package. At the same time, I'm glad Omar rejected this offer.

Mets Deal For Anderson Hernandez
6th August, 2009 - 11:35 am
MLB.com - The Nationals have traded second baseman Anderson Hernandez to the Mets on Thursday.

The switch-hitting Hernandez started the season as the everyday second baseman, but he slumped badly and hit .255 during the first half.
