im curious as to what everyone would be willing to give up for peavy? I'm sure if the right deal came along the padres would trade him? would a possible package of pelfrey/gomez+ fillers get it done?

Why would they trade him?!? They are always contenders in their division, he is their young ace, they got some other good young pieces...
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Peavy has the best stuff in the NL and 2nd best stuff behind Santana. It would take Gomez + Fernando + Humber + Pelfrey + Heilman to start talks with Peavy.

I beg to differ. I think Liriano has better stuff than peavy. With that said, Peavy is untouchable.

Liriano had great stuff, but it cost him his elbow ligament.

His changeup was great, he doesn't need to throw the slider anymore after TJ surgery. Plus he get tutored by Santana, who is definitely the best pitcher in baseball.
