It isn't the end of the world because Green doesn't effect the Mets team let alone he isn't considered the main RBI man on the team. He's here because he's a veteran and will give you a solid .270 batting average.
I doubt Green will get booed because Green is jewish and NYC has a high population of jewish people let alone Met fans so he's kinda popular. If he does get booed then I'll feel really bad for him because he doesn't deserve it ......... nobody deserves to get booed, not even Kaz Matsui(who's httin .333 with the Rockies). With the said I'd rather have Green off the bench and playing backup 1B than Julio Franco.
Green does look like he's trying to hit a homer everytime and it pisses me off ...... looks like he's just another player who can't accept the fact that he isn't the power hitter he once was. IMO Green should change his approach at the plate and to just hit where the pitch is pitched and don't worry about hitting a homer.
BTW Green should start tonight because he's 5 for 9 in his career against Pooper.
No, it's not the end of the world, however, it also isn't a crime to point out our weaknesses. I want the best players to play, and I always prefer to see players who are from our farm system, as opposed to seeing players who we acquire from other organizations.
Anyway, Green will be gone soon because he sucks. He's not on the juice anymore.
I've only booed 2 Mets players at Shea Stadium, George Foster at the end of his career and Doug Sisk.
