Gah, no support for Supernatural again. We need a good weekend to stem this mini-slide...

Okay, so we haven't been playing so well recently. We can make up for it this weekend. Two of three.

Dern it, the Bravos are for real. At least Santana looks like he's rounding into form. Big Pelf better get it together after the break. It'd be nice to get Beltran's bat back as well.

Morons on SNY saying Manuel should be fired, if anyone should go, it should be Minaya. Before the season started, we were an average team, and that's what we are. If we really want to have a serious shot at not only making the playoffs, but winning in it, we need to get Oswalt. With that said, the sky has not fallen, and we still in it. Our pitching hasn't been all that bad, Santana had a good outing and Dickey has been decent. Also, I expect Pelf to be better as his arm gets better, and I think Takashashi will surprise everyone and do decent in LA. Our bats really need to click imo.

Stick a fork in us... it's time to blow things up in the offseason. I agree Minaya needs to get a lot more heat.

I don't think we should blow it up just yet. We should see how this season plays out( I don't think we're making the PO, but there are factors that can lead us to believe that we're not far off from being in contention), the factors are:
Pelfrey: If he can pitch decent for the rest of the year, he can show to the FO that he's a legit 2nd starter and at worst a 3rd starter. That would mean that we would need one more starter, and that starter is Lee. Lee would not only make our rotation better, but our bullpen better, as he could go for long outings and take a load off the pen. Simply put, if Pelf steps up and we get Lee, we'd have arguably the best rotation in baseball and we'd be a favorite next year.

Wright/Reyes: Sure Reyes is injury-prone, but he's key to our success. Honestly what can we get for him? Add to the fact that they're entering their prime, and Wright is the face of the franchise.

Beltran: I don't want him nowhere near the outfield, since his brace limits his fielding. I believe it's best that we have him as a PH, and build his value as a hitter. If he can start to click, he'd be a good DH.

Thole: I like what he brings to the table, sure it's been said he's not an everyday catcher, but he works well with Dickey and he's a decent contact hitter. If Jerry doesn't want to make him a starter, at least give him more PT.

Hitting: Obviously our offense has been stagnant to say the least, but on-paper our offense is too good to be this bad. We should play more small ball, have more PR, and go for more steals. Maybe fire the hitting coach as well.

If we can resolve those issues, we should not blow it up, and look to compete next year.
