John Maine could be out for the season. From my understanding he's had persistent shoulder problems. The Mets should see if they can trade him.

And should Jose Reyes return this season? It appears that he's not 100% healthy and the Mets are near the bottom of their division. Any point of having him back this season? I would rather see him healthy and good to go for next season. Same for Beltran and Delgado although I'm not sure what their status is.

Oops...

Reports: Mets Place Wagner On Waivers
21st August, 2009 - 8:29 am
New York Daily News - The Mets have placed left-handed reliever Billy Wagner on waivers, sources told the New York Daily News.

Wagner is close to completing an 11-month rehabilitation from elbow surgery.

If a team claims him, they would be on the hook for his $3.6 million contract. He is expected to clear waivers on Friday afternoon.

"That's somebody else's decision, however they want to go about it," Wagner said. "I am willing to pitch and try and help this team and that's all I am concerned about.

It's official, Frankie stinks. I've thought that since he walked Mo Rivera, and the winning run scored, several months ago. He then gave the most pu$$!fied excuse I've ever heard from a closer. I lost a ton of respect for him that far back. Yeah, he owned up to his suckage tonight, but regardless, he still sucks.

We need to take a blowtorch to this team. Jerry needs to go (bring back Bobby V.!), Omar needs to go, and the core needs to be shattered...

Mercifully, the season ends... for a while there, I was half expecting to lose 100 games...

Return to New York Mets
