This 4 game sweep explains it all.
Any team that has 3 decent pitchers and good disciplined hitters is going to beat us in a short series. Our team's body of work is impressive over a long 162 game sample, but we are very, very, very inconsistent. Thats why STL beat us last year... yeah there were injuries but friggin guys like Suppan owned us and we didnt get the timely hits in pressure situations. And thats why we cant get it done now. Philly wanted it more and they did what most of us thought wasnt possible a week ago.
Brace yourselves, its going to be a looooong September.

Same ol Willie. He thinks he's Joe Torre and that he has the 99 version of Mariano as a closer. I liked the move in teh 8th but we should've had Heilman ready in the 9th. He's a ground ball pitcher and thats what we needed.
