Mariners implosion defensively today. Really good first day for the Mets here today, very fundamentally sound. Impressive outing for Santana, Johnson finally looked human.

eh, it's up to you really.

good start ... francouer actually had a clue for his first 3 at bats, santana was crisp, nieve could be a good reliever where he can let it out, wright is back, and matthews jr plays the outfield like he drank a fifth of vodka.

jacobs is a bum and i hate how the mets are treating him like a star coming back, he sucks ... ike davis will be here by the summer to save us all.

oh and anyone see that shot by jason heyward in his first at bat?? chipper is leaving and we now have to deal with hanson and heyward for the next decade, ugh

Good win, but I'm not too confident in our shot of competing this year. Our offense will be lights out, once Beltran and Reyes get back, but we need that second ace. Hopefully Minaya can get one through a trade. Edwin Jackson would fit here, sure he's not a star, but I think he would be a decent starter here.

jackson isn't a star ... and he's not a good pitcher, he's bad.

pelfrey is gonna have a very good year, it's hard being a groundball pitcher when you have cora and castillo behind you.

I only said that, because he seems like the only one who we'd be able to get. Pretty much everyone else decent is on a contender or a young star, so... But yeah Pelfrey better have a good year, Jesus(Santana) can only do so much.

6-3 bottom of seventh, bases loaded and Wright coming to bat. It's only the second game of the season and Maine is already giving the trash talkers some ammo for the radio show tomorrow. Dreadful first inning, some control issues which is odd with Maine.

Ack, back down to earth...

There's good chemistry, and the offense is decent. But will our poor starting pitching, outside of Supernatural, be too hard to overcome? Once again, Omar fixes something, only to leave another big area of need unfilled...

as expected pelfrey had a good outing, cora got to a ball that castillo doesn't.

pelfrey's splitter has potential to be an out pitch.

i still hate the fact mejia is up ... but takahashi is a good innings eater and igarashi will be good, especially now since he stopped listening to the moron dan warthen and went back to his old grip. manuel needs to stop using nieve everyday, he has the stuff to be a good reliever but 4 games in a row to start the year?? stop it.

also a few nicknames from another mets forum ... francouer is hardcouer, rod barajas is hot rod, abd fernando nieve is fred snow
