Post#1 » by NYman15 » Fri Jul 29, 2011 6:39 pm

Just to let everyone know Zach Wheeler was assigned to St. Lucie which is high A ball and is scheduled to pitch tomorrow. So, he's in high A and Harvey and Familia are in AA probably for the rest of the year.
Wheeler is 21
Harvey is 22
Familia is 21

Zach had a so so first start going 4 innings giving up 4 runs with 0 walks and 4 strikeouts. However, 3 of those runs came in the 1st inning which could be due to some nerves. Nevertheless, he threw in the mid to upper 90's and showed a great curve and showed good command. I believe his next start is Sunday.

Wheeler's 2nd start was much better than his 1st. 6 scoreless innings walking none and striking out 7. Pretty impressive. Did hit 2 batter though. But great 2nd start for the kid.

Wheeler's third start was very good as well,
5 innings 1 run 3 walks 3 strikeouts. So a very good 3rd start for Wheeler. Now has a 3.00 era with the Mets.

Wheeler continues to dominate. 5 innings 1 run 2 walks 9 strikeouts. ERA is now around 2.70. He is pitching really well.
