This was a nice blowout win. It doesn't make up for the recent losses, but hopefully boosts players' confidence.

Great game for DeGrom on both ends. He helped his own cause. I love to pitchers help on offense. It's a very underrated part of the game.

Great game by Thor aside from that one pitch to Gomez. His fastball had a lot more life to it, which was great to see. My one critique of him would be at the moment was that he seems to get easily flustered, hopefully someone can talk to him about that.

Talk is that he's a little soft. That's probably why Terry was so proud by the way Noah hung in there after the beaning.

Even if he does well in his next couple starts, I see the Mets demoting him to avoid early arbitration.

But if he continues to put good performances, they just need to suck it up and compete now. Let the kid start. It's what he wants. And I thought that's why you call up young players in the big leagues. Put Gee in the bullpen and as a spot starter.
