A lot of media was questioning Omar for not going harder after this guy but sometimes its the moves you DONT make that great GMs great.

yesterday Zito's line was...

6IP - 9 Hits - 8 ER - 3 Walks - 4 Ks.

Horrible. :noway:

Yeah Omar took some crap for not going after him much, but I guess he had his reasons. And IMO Zito wouldn't have liked it here much anyway, all he would ever cry about is staying on the west coast. that would have probably led to him just getting signed and not living up to the hype in NY and tons of pressure on him to perform.
Now he can sit tight in SF and live under the shadow that Bonds cast over the whole team.

Zito killed my fantasy team last week. I'm going to bench him until I see a good outing out of him.

Zito might go down as the biggest FA bust ever.

The one thing I dont like about him is that he is just greedy, thats about it. If you are a FA why do you go to one of the oldest teams in the league with Barry Bonds.

To me if he wanted to stay on the West Coast why not LA. Then again he probably just wanted the money.

Im glad we didnt get him...

Zito strikes me as the kind of guy who will fail MLB's drug testing policy for peyote or something like that, homeboy's out there...and with 126 mil to spend, he might get even father out there...

Things could bounce back for zito. We, as braves fans, labelled hudson as a bust. Somewhat. But he's come out of the gate throwing 2 great games so far. Zito just has to find his groove.

The thing about Zito is his numbers has been going down like every year. I think out of the A's 3, he missed the Jacket the most.

Todd Helton too. That boy needs to get back on the juice. He should give Giambi a call.

He was pointing out Hampton wasn't technically a free agent signing.

Zito's first outing last year was terrible too, and he followed it by a pretty strong season for the most part.

I also hate to jump on a guy for taking what's offered to him. Come on, if it was you, and team A offered 126 Million and team B offered 80 million - Team A was a jump across the river, Team B was a better team, but 3000 miles away, with more viscious media pressure.

I guess what I'm saying is - don't call the player greedy when he takes the offered the contract - call the team that makes the offer - stupid. :-)
