Michael Pelfrey vs Tim Hudson | 4-20-07 | 7:10 PM EST
Scouting Report:
Braves: The right-handed Hudson has been dominant through his first three starts. Manager Bobby Cox called his stuff "dynamite" earlier this week, saying Hudson's been spectacular so far. Cox said the righty made some changes from last year, when he went 13-12, and everything has paid off nicely so far this season.

Mets: Pelfrey made his 2007 debut and his fifth big-league start against the Nationals Friday night in the chill of Shea Stadium. The results were mixed -- six hits, four walks and too many pitches, 97, in 5 1/3 innings. Two runs scored before he was removed with two runners on base. His damage control, enhanced by three double plays, was quite acceptable, though.

Oliver Perez vs Chuck James | 4-21-07 | 1:10 PM EST
Scouting Report:
Braves: James suffered a tough loss on a very cold night in Washington on Monday. He gave up three runs on five hits in five innings as the Nationals scored a 5-1 victory over the Braves. James only had trouble in the third inning, when he allowed three runs on four hits, and the Braves never recovered. He struck out three and walked two, but came away with his first loss.

Mets: Perez followed his sterling first start of the year with a poor second outing, walking seven in 2 2/3 innings against the Phillies on April 11. He was to have faced them again, but a rainout Sunday pushed his start to Wednesday and then a postponement on Monday pushed it even further.

Tom Glavine vs John Smoltz | 4-22-07 | 1:10 PM EST
Scouting Report:
Braves: Smoltz turned in another solid effort in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Nationals. Three Atlanta errors hurt Smoltz, who had 74 strikes out of his 102 pitches. He turns 40 next month, but Smoltz doesn't appear to be slowing down much at all. The combination of Smoltz, Tim Hudson and Chuck James could give the Braves a very good 1-2-3 punch in the starting rotation.

Mets: Glavine finally may get to pitch in reasonable conditions when he faces the Braves on Sunday. "I don?t know, I might get heat stroke," he said Tuesday after he beat the Phillies in 46-degree weather. He walked five and allowed six hits, but only one run in six innings and was at his best when he had to be. The Braves beat him in Atlanta on April 7, when he allowed five runs -? two earned -? in 5 1/3 innings.

Pelfrey is waaaay overrated. I never saw anything special in this kid, always prefered Humber over him.

He's young don't get it mixed up cuz we jumped on him. He depended alot on his fastball and they teached him a new pitch (slider). Once he gets that down and his command along with a better change he should be good for 15 wins a year. He has a live arm.

Very bad game. DocZaius what a rediculous comment. Don't hop back on the bandwagon either.

Yeah.... That's what they all say...

Can't wait until Pelfrey becomes a star. IMO he needs to ditch the change and work on a splitter as well as refine his slider. His slider was sharp during spring training but he hasnt utilized it because he has rearly been in counts which he was ahead in.

Was at the game today and the old joint was bananas. Nice to hear the crowd cheering on Reyes and Beltran for the cycle even though the game was pretty much decided. Lets kick some Smoltz a$$ tomorrow.

It's amazing how much less stressful you are if your favorite team wins on a consistent basis.

Having to root for the Knicks and then all of a sudden the Mets, ahhhhhhhh!

I won't be able to watch today's game but will be catching the last few innings on radio. Hopefully Glavine is at his best today with the beautiful weather and home crowd behind him. Let's take the series against Craplanta and show them who still runs the NL EAST.
