I've been saying this but a lot of posters down play it ... if Omar Minaya had a choice to keep 2 out of the 3 in CarGo, Thrilledge, and King Fernando ... Minaya would choose CarGo and King Fernando since they both have MORE potential and don't have a negative vibe around them.
with that said, King Fernando went 3 for 5 and hit his 2nd homer in AA ..... and the kid is only 18!!!

I agree. Keeping Gomez up (and the way he's been playing) does not bode well for Milledge, that and the extra bull pen guy we have when Mota comes back. It almost begs for a trade of some sort.
The only downside is - Milledge may be a good major league player. Can we get fair value in return if we trade him?

Its tough...if Milledge is sent up for Gomez, then he'd have so much pressure on him to produce because we've seen what Gomez cuold do. This could mess him up and the fans might boo him if he stinks it up.
I like Milledge though....He kills the ball. Maybe we could package Milledge + Pelfrey for Zambrano.

The real Zambrano this time. Maybe we finally make a run for Willis using Milledge and Pelfrey as the chips.

naa too much.. harden is a huuuuuge ? as are prospects b/c his injury woes. i'd need to know the pitcher we are getting in return for those 2 players will be healthy and able to help us win a ring this fall. but really theres no rush to deal either of these 2 and really their value isnt all that gaudy atm (pelfrey 0 n 5 or so, milledge off the field issues), even though they still can be very good players. i wouldnt trade any prospects yet, i mean its not like we r the yanks 9 games out and desperate for a pitcher.

If Pelfrey can't get his secondary **** down, I wouldn't mind facing him.

Why do we need Harden when we have Sosa? The beauty of Omar is that he's able to continuously find these diamonds in the rough. Thats the mark of a GREAT gm. No need to give up trading chips for a pitcher whose ALWAYS gimpy. Thats a move Isiah Thomas would make.

Way to early to give up on Pelfrey.
Take a lesser player, like Solar & Milledge for Harden - then we'll talk.

Wasn't Soler released by the organization for some reason? I'd still like some info on why and how that all when down.

Soler is with the Pirates.

In what world is Jorge Sosa anywhere near Rich Harden in quality? Rich Harden, when he is healthy, is 10x better than Jorge Sosa will ever be.

For what Harden would cost, he better be healthy all the time. He is not worth it IMO.

What good is "quality" when you're always on the DL?!?!?!? Dudes been hurt and missed a TON of starts since he arrived in the majors. Why would we bring in a pitcher like that when we are in first place without him??? We aren't desperate like the Stinks are right now. Just worry about Roger "I'm in Club Med while my team is in Kansas City" Clemens

That's OK. He's so bad, I'm sure pitsburgh wouldn't mind if we traded him anyway.
But - point taken, I was just trying to make a point. Milledge is enough. We can throw in Chan Ho or maybe, what was his name? - Andrew Young? Do we still have his rights?
