LETS GO METS!!!!!

Friday, May 25 Purchase Tickets Dolphin Stadium | 7:05 PM ET
NYM Orlando Hernandez, RHP (2-1, 2.53)
Mets (29-17) @ FLA Sergio Mitre, RHP (2-2, 2.25)
Marlins (23-24)

Scouting Report:
Mets: El Duque is to return after losing more than a month to bursitis in his right shoulder. He last pitched April 24, against the Rockies. He has faced the Marlins once this season, beating them in Miami on April 19. He tossed seven innings in that outing, allowing three hits and an unearned run while striking out 10.

Marlins: Mitre bucked the no-win trend by claiming his first victory in a year during his last outing, and then dug deep to repeat the feat on Sunday. The right-hander was in a 3-0 hole after three innings, but followed that up with what would have been four perfect frames had he not struck a batter in the seventh. He fanned just three during his second win, but walked none and scattered five hits. Mitre has not faced the Mets in his career.

Saturday, May 26 Purchase Tickets Dolphin Stadium | 7:05 PM ET
NYM John Maine, RHP (5-2, 2.77)
Mets (29-17) @ FLA Wes Obermueller, RHP (1-2, 3.71)
Marlins (23-24)

Scouting Report:
Mets: Maine was gone after five innings for the second straight start on Sunday, allowing eight hits and five runs -- both season highs. The poor performance, which included three walks, puffed his ERA up to 6.19 for his last three starts. His ERA through six starts had been 1.37.

Marlins: Back in the rotation to fill the void with Ricky Nolasco on the DL, Obermueller makes his fifth start and seventh appearance. As a starter, the veteran right-hander is 1-2 with a 3.74 ERA, giving up nine earned runs in 21 2/3 innings. He has struck out 13 while walking 11 in that span.

Sunday, May 27 Purchase Tickets Dolphin Stadium | 1:05 PM ET
NYM Jorge Sosa, RHP (3-1, 3.75)
Mets (29-17) @ FLA Scott Olsen, LHP (4-3, 4.76)
Marlins (23-24)

Scouting Report:
Mets: Sosa seemingly reverted to the form he demonstrated with the Braves last season when he pitched against them Tuesday night in Atlanta. He allowed as many runs, five, in four innings as he had in his first three Mets starts (20 innings). The performance had the characteristic traits of his poor performances as a starter last season -- too many walks, three, including one to the pitcher, and a home run.

Marlins: Olsen faced the Mets on April 30 at Shea Stadium and picked up the win after allowing four runs (two earned) on 10 hits and two walks in six innings. He's allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his four starts since, lowering his ERA by almost a full point. He has only one win to show for that success -- a 5-3 victory over the Phillies in his last outing.

Please dear God I don't want to see Julio Franco leave the bench at all during this series. I'd rather see Willie at the plate, then Franco.

As long Willie is the manager, Franco will bat and the white flag will come in.

Looked safe to me. Delgado should have been running harder out of the box. :nonono: LoDuca out at third, Delgado not busting it out of the box and Wright not running out that trickler that went fair. :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

Marlins are hustling at every play and the Mets act like they just want to get the game over to go to South Beach....

El Duque is pitching good tho.

Not hustling, dumb base-running, can't bunt correctly....is this just a fluke night or every-night? Is the Mets offense all about consecutive doubles and homeruns to score runs?

Usually they are very fundamentally sound. This game is an abberation, probably cause they're slumping a bit on offense now and the confidence is down.
