Pedro on Clemens

"I saw Roger pitch the other day, and without a doubt, I can do that and even better at this point," Martinez said before the Mets opened a three-game series with the Marlins at Dolphin Stadium.
"I probably can throw harder," Martinez added. "I feel like I'm in better condition. Roger doesn't seem like he's supposed to be like I know Roger to be. The Roger I'm used to seeing is not him. And I can expect that, because it's so early. But at the same time, I would like him to take all the advantage and leave me just the way I am, doing my rehab."
Martinez paused a moment, then said, "And when I come back, I'll let you guys be the judge."

Pedro talking out of his ass, like Pedro has always done.
Pedro is not going to hit the mid 90s consistently. If he thinks that, he is just blowing smoke.

Let us worry about Pedro, you worry about your own 28 million dollar juice head.

If you think Pedro is going to hit the mid 90s or even low 90s with regularity, I got a nice house on the waterfront to sell you.
And can you show me any proof that Roger has juiced? By the same token, I can make the same baseless accusation that Pedro has used steroids. See, baseless accusations are fun!!!

I don't know - it all sounds good to me. Pedro's feeling good, he's excited, he wants to come back. It's dangerous ground when one celebrated pitcher critisizes another - that's the only thing I don't like, though Pedro didn't exactly say anything bad about Roger - just that he's not the old roger yet. But it can be misinterpreted as negative.
Also - Roger's 44. Guy has tremendous staying power, while Pedro may not pitch beyond his current contract. It's a little weak to take a 44 year old who's pitching his way into shape and say "I'm better than that"
but still - overall, nice read. I'm happy we have Pedro, and I don't mind the contract he got one bit. He's been worth every penny, cause he's made our team more respectible, and he might strike some fear in our opponants come September. I'm really looking forward to see what he can do this season.

Yeah look at Rogers BIG FAT HEAD! Pedro on the otherhand has always been a scrawny little thing.
Seriously, you really believe Roger is juice free?

I don't believe Pedro has never taken performance enhancing drugs.

I'm sure Pedro has probably taken something, because they all have. Although I don't think Pedro was heavily into that stuff because he's been the same type of pitcher since the day he arrived in baseball. He looks pretty much the same too.
Roger Clemens definitely 100%, he is/was on a similar concoction that Barroid is/was on.

Pedro doesn't even need to throw 88 and he could still dominate baseball.

Well, I disagree. If he throws 88, 89, 90 and has his great changeup and curve working, yes he can dominate.
But if he is throwing 85 and 86 like he did in his last few starts before surgery? He isn't going to be dominant.

Pedro even said that he was wearing down during the injury because he dropped weight, he was at 178 and now he is at 193. He said he gained 5 pounds of muscle so far in rehab. That is a huge difference.

I will even make a sig bet that Pedro has more of an impact on the Mets then Clemens will on the Yankees. Clemens has yet to look impressive against kids that will never reach the big leagues. Also to think he never steriods to me is quite funny. Only Venezulan's take steriods to me thats what it seems, other Latin players usually are always clean.

You are aware that this is a bet without a clear term for who wins? Clemens will get more starts, but Pedro is more likely to pitch in the playoffs.
If Clemens helps the Yanks make it to the post season (unlikely), his contribution may be bigger than Pedros, even if Pedro is the better pitcher.

Yup. Looks like the Yankees wasted 28 million dollars on a pitcher that's not going to make a difference at all. It's highly unlikely that they'll make the playoffs with or without him considering their current deficit.

Clemens outward appereance highly indicates him using steroids.
Pedro on the other hand never got any bigger or certainly showed any signs of use of dope.

simple answer.. pedro is 36 and has declined the past few years, clemens is like 100 and has barely declined at all and relies more/so on velocity than a pitcher like pedro, which usually declines first ina pitcher. clemens is completely jacked, pedro is tiny. clemens is a dick, pedro (when not throwing old men) comes off as a nice guy who enjoys the game as much as anyone. clemens is SEVEN years older than pedro

Pedro comes off as a nice guy?

Ask Karim Garcia, Derek Jeter and Alfonso Soriano about that. I'm sure they'd consider him a nice guy for throwing at their head.
You can't blame Roger for having a good pitcher's frame. He has always had large thighs, a large lower body and a large upper body. Pedro on the other hand, has always been tiny. It's one of the reasons why he broke down so quick.
