Will Reyes steal 90?

Post#1 » by Luv those Knicks » Sun May 27, 2007 8:27 pm

He's got 28 steals in 49 games. I think 100 might be a stretch, but I think he could steal 90. He's set to steal 92 if he keeps this up. He should get 80, might get 90. It's been like 15 years since anyone's stolen 90.
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.

Double standard?

Never leave home without it...

Seriously though it wouldnt suprise me at all if he did reach 90. The key thing is staying healthy which he has shown for the past few years now. Its not like he cant, all he needs to do is keep up with being patient at the plate and as long as he is on base he will get the steals.

No reason why he shouldn't. I just want his average to remain above .300 and his OBP to be over .400 for the season. He should steal 90 as long as he remains at those averages.

I hate to say it but stolen bases are highly overrated. Although it would be nice to see Reyes get to 90 SB, I would rather see him improving his pitch selectivity and stop swinging for the walls. He also needs to bunt more, guaratee he can hit .400 if he uses the bunt single regularly. Overall, I am pleased with what he is doing, he is probably better already than what I thought he was gonna be.

Stolen bases aren't over rated. With a guy like Reyes on the bags, who's a threat to steal whenever he reaches, it keeps the pitcher thinking about keeping Reyes where he is. This means not all of the pitchers attention is focused on the batter. Pitchouts, constant fastballs, etc, all benefit the hitter. A basestealing threat is a great asset to have.

I think Reyes will reach 90, and I pray he hits 100.
