Shouldn't the April-Rod nicknames be in the Yankees thread?
And weren't you the one who was feeling sorry for the Yankees and their fans a few days ago because you felt bad for starting the Yankees suck thread???

Uhhh he did want to play here, we just didn't want to pay him all that money. Turned out to be a smart move because knowing Steve Phillips/Duquette, they would have eventually traded away Jose Reyes for some crappy pitcher. And I'd MUCH rather have Jose Reyes than April-Rod. So would you.

One of the few things we can thank Steve Phillips for...

Sure you would.
ARod is Mr. Negativity. Jose Reyes is Mr. Positivity. You see it. You see Reyes in the dugout cheering on his teammates, making everyone laugh while, April is sitting there in the dugout blowing bubbles with a frown on his face as he contemplates which stripper he's going to bang that night.
Right now you're suffering from the April-Rod curse. Nothing good has happened for the Yankees since April joined the team. Even the Red Sox won a World Series after coming back from being down 0-3 to beat the Yankees! You need to dump him ASAP. Actually your entire roster needs an overhaul.

haven't you realized that Gay-rods a team cancer? He creates detrimental effects to the clubhouse, that's why he's been a career loser.
The Yankees won't win **** until they get rid of this guy. Reyes on the other hand is probably the best clubhouse guy in the majors.

If Mo didn't blow 2 saves in the '04 ALCS, neither of the last 2 posts would have been here.
And while I'm here, I'll reiterate emphatically that I would take ARod ANY day of the week over Reyes.

And if we had a real closer in 2000 instead of Armando Blownitez, we would have won that world series.
And you can have April-Rod and all his negativity. We're happy with Jose Reyes, his tremendous defense, his incredible speed and the infectious enthusiasm he brings to the game.

What about Billy Wagner, who blew Game 2 of the 2006 NLCS?

He didn't blow that game. F*cking Shawn Green should have caught that ball in RF in the 7th inning which led to a triple by Spezio. That was the killer. Mota retired the first 2 batters in that inning. Horrible. I thought the 7th inning in game 2 cost us that series. We should have been up 2-0

What are you talking about, he didn't blow that game? I remember it vividly. Yes, Shawn Green should have made that catch in the 7th inning. But that was Mota's inning, and that tied the game. Billy Wagner blew the tied game in the 9th. Two completely different innings. Wagner was called upon to hold the lead and he couldn't.
