Chavez is on the DL for 2-3 weeks it looks like.

ya know. as much as i love the guy, and how painful and terrible that looked (i was at the game).. we may be better off. i hope hte guy recovers and all, but he was exposed. he's not a every day starter, and i'd rather see the young guys gomez/johnson gain more expericence, and when LM recovers he can get a spot too.

chavez had a 370 avg going into the NYY series (somewhere around that) and his avg now is below .300.

his speed is a bit overrated too. i guess i'm spoiled with reyes/gomez but he isn't really fast. out of 100, i'd rate his speed a 89

Our team BA was leading the league for the first several weeks of the season - it wasn't just Endy, but Green - 350, Alou - 350, Reyes - 350, Write was up over 300, then below, the team batting average has slipped like 20 pts off its high (OK, I haven't looked it up - but something like that).

I also think you are right, Endy is best as a off the bench guy. Good player, but he was exposed.

anyone know who we called up to replace Endy?

Man this is depressing watching our OF's dropping like flies.

Caleb Stewart
Lastings Milledge
Fernando Martinez

I want to go with youth for the time being, Id love to see Martinez but that wont happen. Milledge would be the easy answer if it wasnt for the rehabbing. Stewart is my dark horse though for a call up..
