you have guys on this board with thousands of posts already mailing in the season.
there are some people on this board who proclaim milledge, fmart, and gomez to all be future perenial all stars, but forget about the alex escobars of the world.
i went to last nights game. im tired of people saying "team looks dead" "they look bored"
please.. what a bunch of bull, when you are down 6-2 every team will look dead in the dugout and disinterested. why are we questioning their desire to win? its the most ludicrous comment and suggestion anyone can make. you guys should know better? its a joke, to even question that they want to win.
we all need to chill out and stop overreacting. delgado has been dissapointing. we missed the consistency of having 'stache in the lineup all the way thru the phillies series. we had so many injuries that we couldnt have a consistent lineup.
beltran is a funky player. hes not a bust. to even suggest hes a bust? did we even look at what he did last year? my god, some of you act like hes the second coming of mo vaughb/ alomar.
stop with the stupid negativity and start acting like we won the damn division last year, and we are one of the best teams in baseball. and a) we are leading it b) we are defending it.
this team is not garbage, like some of you liek to suggest right now. maine is good, glavine is good, perez is good and damnit, the whole damn team is great. now, go back to watching mets games and expecting to win- and thats when we start winning.
so what exactly.. is wrong?

they did seem dead. in that game there was no electrcity or exicitement. last year when we would be losing i'd still feel the energy and have full confidence we can come back. this year it's a bit different. of course i think the team wants to win, but they just seem a bit luthergic compared to last year. they seem defeated and the "here we go again" syndrome is there. i think a guy like lastings milledge would benefit the clubhouse in waking them up.
and willie's a fine manager. his game desicions are very questionable, but they worked last year. he's not terrible and manages personalities great.
carlos delgado is garbage. and he's done. seriously.
i still think the mets will win the NL East. but they gotta get outta the funk soon.
