If you were Omar Minaya

If you were Omar today and you can make some moves what would it be?

For me I'd first trade for Adam Dunm
Mike Pelfrey, Aaron Heilman, (and some other AA prospect) for Adam Dunn and Dave Weathers.

He can play 1b and LF. He'd fill the power void lost from Delgado and he can play the OF for us this season. Next off-season sign him to an extenision and let Delgado walk (cut him or SOMETHING).

Next I'd sign Roberto Hernandez. He was designated for assignment and he's always good in the blue and orange. He'd help the struggling bullpen, add expericence, and come cheap.

As soon as Lastings Milledge is healthy, I'd bring down Gomez and let Lastings and Green alternate. I'd also give Milledge the Endy Chavez role until he's fully healthy as well.

Pedro Martinez coming back is a luxery which means we don't need to trade for a SP. But I'd defintely try and trade for Roy Oswalt. I'd offer Gomez, Phillip Humber, Mike Carp for him. If that's not enoguh, so be it.

Going into Septemeber our lineup would be:
1: Reyes
2: Duca
3: Beltran
4: Dunn
5: Wright
6: Delgado
7: Green
8: Valentin

Rotation: 1) Glavine, 2) Duque, 3) Maine, 4) Perez, 5) Pedro.

Last but not least. As soon as Dave Williams is healthy, I'd send down Scott Schowenweis to AAA.

I'd also try to get Brad Lidge, but I would not over pay. Maybe Milledge for Lidge staright up?

What would you do?

I can only imagine everyone complaining about how many times Dunn strikeouts with runners in scoring position. Hernandez is done, he really hasnt shown anything for two years now. Since last year Oswalt has signed an extension I believe, they wont pull the trigger. Milledge for Lidge is overpaying, not a chance Id do that.

- Personally Id try to talk to the Angels to see the price tags of Figgins and Kendrick.
- Call the A's and still see about the Harden/Milledge swap.

Thats about it...

NO. NO. NO.

Dunn is a terrible defender and you know it's either HR or K with him. I say we just ride out of this month and get back to Met's baseball by the All Star Break.

SAY NO TO ADAM DUNN.....strikes out wayyy to much and is horrid in the clutch.....I remember he had last year at a point like 20 some odd home runs and 40 some odd rbis....hes king solo shot.....

Hmmm...if I were Omar, I'd run for the border if we don't make the playoffs because there are going to be a lot of pissed-off fans, myself included, if we don't.

LET'S GO METS

Anyway, I'd swing a deal for another White Sox starter not rumored in any Mets trades - John Garland. I think we could probably get him cheaper and reap better results than Beurhley

I'd try to address our soft, country club, ho-hum image that Willie has instilled on us.

I am really beginning to believe you dont like Willie for reasons other then how he has managed the team this year.

He is the ONLY manager in MLB history to increase the team's win production 10 or more wins for his first 2 years managing.
