9-4 2.74era -- didn't make allstar team AND not in consideration for final voting when these guys are (and how is chris young not a shoe in??):

PITCHER TEAM W L ERA IP K
T Gorzelanny PIT 8 4 3.05 112.0 70
R Oswalt HOU 7 5 3.42 121.0 83
B Webb ARI 8 5 3.05 118.0 100
C Young SD 8 3 2.14 96.2 90
C Zambrano CHI 9 6 4.20 111.1 94

Maines numbers completely murder zambranos and oswalts, and are also arguably better than webb and gorzelanny (depending how you rate pitchers). Am i missing something? Just b/c the mets have 4 all stars already doesnt mean you completely snub a 5th, how is that fair? i mean its the all STAR game, no?

the all-star game is stupid anyway. anything involving fan voting (obviously pitchers aren't voted by fans but...) is dumb, as people just vote for names they know rather than who's having the best year.

people who know baseball (except for la russa apparently) know he's having a good year, that's all that really matters. who cares what ignorant fans who just vote for a yankee player at every position (did i see cano finished second for 2nd basemen?!) think

ESPN just has to be RIGHT because they predicted that our starting staff was gonna be crappy.

They were not gonna pick a Met starter even if Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman, or Dwight Gooden 1985 were available.

There is no way those queefs were gonna lose face.

yea Random is right. It's not that big of a deal. We got 4 other guys going. Personally I have a bigger problem with Brian Fuentes going over Maine.
