When is Russell Martin a free agent? next year? We need to sign this guy.

Martin, 24, leads N.L. catchers in on-base percentage, slugging percentage, stolen bases, runs scored and RBIs. He has thrown out 32.5 percent of opposing base stealers. And in his two-year career, the Dodgers are 101-60 when he starts behind the plate, including 30-17 this season.

What makes him special?

The Dodgers talk about his energy, leadership and athleticism, comparing him with some of the game's current and past greats.

omg.. you guys are looking like Yankee fans right now. Thinking you can sign anyone from any team. Why would the Dodgers even think about not re signing the best young catcher in the game? Yes, he is better then Joe Mauer IMO.

He's gonna be re-signed. You won't be able to touch him for many years.

Is it just me or does this guy look a lot like Todd Hundley.
