who's gonna be filling in until then? Can they bring up Fernando Martinez? I don't wanna see David Newhan, or Ben Johnson again.

no point in rushing f mart to the majors. he's 18 ffs. 3 games till the ASB, after which alou and endy should return.

They are still far away from returning, I think another month at least. Welcome to the Ricky Ledee show for the time being.

Jul. 3 : Alou has been nursing a strained left quadriceps since mid-May and might just be a "couple of weeks" away from making his return, according to Mets officials, reports the Star Ledger.
Quads are a horrible nagging injury, ill be surprised if he is even back before Pedro. Considering his age and a quad injury, I think this year might be it for him.

a quad is a 2-4 week injury for a young, healthy player. clearly he did more than just "strain" it.
i get my info from metsblog, for what it's worth

Today's NYTimes suggested less than that - next week sometime. (Major would have kinipshins with an outfield of Green and Milledge - with his love of defense) - but I'm glad Milledge is coming back. Good thing we have lots of depth on our team. Hope we get healthy by the playoffs.

Ehh... That was before he was tearing it up my comment. Im glad to see that he will be starting in the OF, because our offense can really use a pick me up at the moment.
