Humber Offered for Chad Cordero

The Mets offered fine pitching prospect Phil Humber for Cordero but have been firm to this point that they will not surrender any of their top four prospects: outfielders Carlos Gomez, Fernando Martinez and Lastings Milledge, and pitcher Mike Pelfrey.

good. cordero > humber, and cordero is young. i think this as a possiblity of happening now.

Probably if Omar adds Gomez or Milledge. Bowden is greedy and will ask for too much.

we wont/defintely shouldn't put in Gomez or Milledge
Bowden's a ***hole and literally has no clue wtf he's doing. so i doubt it happens.

Im glad that Omar did not trade away of the top four, but eventually he will need to decide between Lastings, Gomez and Martinez. I would have liked Cordero, but you lose some you win some.

Fernando will move to 1B by next year probably, Omar wants to keep The Big 3 together for the next 15 years along with Wright and Reyes.

Get it out of your mind, Fernando is not moving to first base. Stop reading what others post on Mets forums. It would be idiotic to move him to first base.

how would it be idotic? it makes most sense. gomez is stayin in the OF, beltran is staying here, and lastings is obviously staying put.
fernando NEEDS to move to 1b.

Your acting like Fernando is getting called up next year or something. Can you read the future? What happens if Beltran injures something permanently or we happen to move Milledge or Gomez for a stud pitcher. You dont move Fernando to first base at age 18/19. That suggestion is commical.

the goal for him is to be here in 09 or '10. by then he'd be 20-22.
beltran will still be under contract. lastings/gomez (unless traded) will be starting. it's common sense. and omar obviously likes gomez/lastings if they're UNTOUCHABLE.
moving fernando now is really good. he'll get more adjusted there, and when it's his time to take over for delgado, while lastings/gomez patrol the OF he's still there.

Your post ridiculous, you dont know what can happen in the future. The team isnt going to move him to first base either because his value decreases by a lot, you dont know what Omar is planning to do with this team, neither do I. You dont turn a stud OF prospect to a stud 1Bprospect, the value just diminishes.

Has anyone ever heard of a 1B being able to catch Jose Reyes? A 1B to steal 50 bases in a year? I mean I got to sell the notion of moving Martinez to 1B. We need to trade one of the three OF's for an elite pitcher. I think we all know and can agree on that...
I dont want to hold my breathe for Zambrano, Santana or any other pitcher.

We should break the bank for Zamby this offseason without question.

nando only got 3 stolen bases, and got caught 4 times... that's bein on base 80+ times.

when jose was in A he had like 36 SB in 40 games.
i have a feeling nando isn't as fast as people thought.
also this year, gomez had 17 sb in 36 games.

Hard for Nando to get anything if he keeps getting hurt.
