what do you guys think about this kid? hes 25 and still has potential to be a solid ofer...if it wouldnt cost much would you look into him?

nah we don't need him. he's better off suited playing everyday.

He had a 4.42 ERA last year. He's worth a try, he has a track record. It's possible that he is bored in San Diego. El Duque had a 6.11 ERA before he was acquired by the Mets, and look at him now.

The Mets should go after Wells more than Willy Mo, at least Wells probably has more plate discipline.

EDIT: But seriously, Wells Ks in 31.5% of ABs (12 out of 38) while Wily Mo Ks in 37.1% of ABs (56 out of 151). I was only joking when I said it, but damn I didn't realize I was actually right.

wells is worth a try. i mean he's better then brian lawrence as our #5 SP. and plus we will only need him for a lil bit until pedro comes back. if he agrees to it, he can also be put into the 'pen.
and we won't have to give up anything, and it blocks a playoff hopeful (a la braves) who needs SP to attain him...

disagree; he's 44 and he isn't gonna get in better shape any time soon. 3 million for an average to below average pitcher when our #5 has kept us in both games that he's pitched? uh, no thanks.

or it's possible that he's 44 and a fat **** and he's well past his prime. but we'll go with your psychological reason because that point is so irrelevant i should've just ignored it and i don't care to argue it

duque's 6.11 era is an outlier and should be considered an aberration (it was also in 45.2 IP [sample size anyone?])
